Collections Officers Perm/Contract Roles Available
Our client is one of NZ’s largest finance companies, supporting customers and businesses across industries including transport, forestry, agriculture and manufacturing.
We’re looking for a Collections Officer to join the team. This opportunity offers exposure to lending, credit risk and managing customers through financial challenges – experience that can support a longer-term career in financial services.
THE ROLE
Working within a close-knit team, you’ll manage overdue motor vehicle finance accounts, helping customers understand their options and work towards getting their repayments back on track. You’ll have the ability to listen carefully, negotiate confidently and make sound decisions.
- Contacting customers about overdue repayments and agreeing appropriate next steps.
- Identifying payment difficulties and supporting customers through the relevant hardship processes.
- Managing inbound calls and outbound collections activity.
- Keeping accurate account records and completing timely follow-up.
- Working within relevant legislation, policies and quality standards.
Build skills that support your career
You’ll strengthen your negotiation skills, develop your understanding of lending obligations and credit risk, and gain experience handling sensitive financial conversations. These are valuable foundations for future opportunities across collections, credit, lending operations and customer support.
ABOUT YOU
You’ll have previous collections experience, a confident telephone manner and the ability to build rapport while keeping conversations focused on a practical outcome. Strong communication and negotiation skills are required together with knowledge of relevant consumer finance and privacy legislation.
Experience supporting customers with payment difficulties and knowledge of the CCCFA hardship process would be particularly valuable.
What’s on offer
Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll have flexible working benefits, KiwiSaver, subsidised medical cover and banking, enhanced parental leave and childcare support.
The role is based in Auckland CBD, working Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday, if required.
If you’re ready to build on your experience and take the next step in your career, we’d love to hear from you.
